A bird in coffee grounds: what does it mean?
- news
- message
- good tidings
- freedom
A bird in coffee grounds is a bringer of news. By tradition it means good tidings, an unexpected message or a pleasant surprise.
What does a bird in a coffee cup mean?
In old tradition a bird carries news from one place to another. Seeing one in your cup means you will hear something: a letter, a call or news that lifts your mood. The bird is also a symbol of lightness and freedom.
Where does a bird appear: rim, bottom or handle?
A bird flying towards the rim is said to mean the news will come very soon. A bird resting near the bottom points to slower news or news from far away. Near the handle it ties to joy arriving at home or in the family.
Big, small or blurry: what changes the meaning?
A bird in flight is good news; a sitting bird says the news needs a little waiting. Many small birds together mean lots of news, or people talking. A blurry bird advises you not to believe everything at once.
The bird and your plans
If you are waiting for an answer, the bird is a good sign: it is on its way. If you are planning a trip, it often foretells a pleasant departure.
